I went to superdrug on Sunday and I saw some makeup bits that I wanted to get, two of which I have seen before and I knew I wanted to get them but one purchase was a complete impulse buy and I am really glad that I bought it.
I saw this foundation and concealer duo product in a Look magazine a couple of weeks ago and it looked really interesting. The magazine article said that this product is moisturising and has a dewy finish. I bought the shade 01 ivory which is the lightest shade. I have only tried this foundation/concealer once today so I can only give a first impressions review. The foundation is a fantastic match for my very pale skin initially but I found that the foundation did oxidise on my skin - it went darker and sightly orange with time as the foundation reacts with the oxygen in the air. The foundation blended really well but it has light coverage and it can look slightly powdery on the drier areas of my skin - initially I am not very impressed and as for the concealer is a bit cakey and it is far too thick and heavy to be used under the eyes. Also I definitely wouldn't describe this foundation as moisturising or dewy.
Miss Sporty Metal Flip Nail Polish (£1.99) - shade: 40
I saw this polish on superdrug's website a while ago but it was listed as Rimmel, not Miss Sporty. Miss Sporty isn't a brand that I haven't bought from before but I am impressed with this polish. The shade is very unique, it looks like petrol and the colour changes with the light. Sometimes this shade can look black on the nails but it can also look purple, green, golden and grey but mostly it looks purple. The polish applies really well, it is fully opaque with two coats and it dries quickly. I have been wearing it for a day now and there is no chipping, just very slight wear at the tips.
Loreal Caresse Shine (£7.99)
I hadn't seen these online but in the Superdrug I went in yesterday they had a whole range of shades. These are brand new and they are the Loreal Caresse Shines (something like that, the name was on the stand in store but it is not on the tube). I bought the shade '101 Lolita' which is the lightest I saw and in my opinion the most wearable. The shade is a medium pink with mauve undertones and slight golden shimmer. The shade on the tube doesn't look that similar to the shade when it is swatched and it looks different again on the lips.
The shade is just gorgeous and I really, really, really love it. The shade isn't what I would usually go for but I am so glad I bought this product. The product has a strange texture, it feels like a really thick but smooth lip gloss and it does apply really nicely and smoothly. The product has a good level of pigmentation which can be built up and as you can see from the photograph at the bottom right - it does stain! I still have the stain on my hand, even after washing my hands multiple times! I have only had this product for a day but I am so impressed with the wear/longevity and the shade so I will have to get more! These are supposed to be Loreal's version of the YSL Glossy Stains.
